Dirty Deeds, Combat and Cunning
Warrior-Priests of Death Power
Evil
The Morgothians proudly wear the flaming eye of Morgoth and are a most formidable fighting force in the Festival Lands. We have an ‘evil’ outlook but are a fun and friendly faction for those who like a bit of mischief and strong camaraderie. Whilst any character class is welcome, our main strengths are in combat and wielding dark/death power. Besides prowess in combat, we also value subterfuge and more subtle ways of gaining power. Our camp always has a great fire and bar to gather around. Look us up, look up to us, (nearly) all are welcome.
To serve the Dark Lord is to discard the garish vanities of the sun-lit world. Clad yourselves in unyielding black, a shadow cast by His eternal will, and let your raiment be a grim confluence of steel and cloth—for while plate protects the flesh, it is the spirit’s malice that truly binds us. Cast aside the trinkets of the lesser breeds; let no sign of fragility, such as the reproachable pointed ears of the Eldar, defile your form, lest you be purged along with them.
The Morgothians, also known as The Circle Aflame, are composed of two contingents following a split within The Nine, powerful ethereal undead from Thranduil. The Herofest Faction follows The Witch King of Angmar, others (NPCs) follow Khamul.
Since first travelling to Orin Rakatha from their home plane, the Morgothians have had a chequered history. The faction was great in numbers and spread evil deeds through their chaotic, warlike behaviour and use of deathly Power drawn from their dark masters. Around a decade ago, their faction was decimated and their leader killed (with their enemies, the elves, leading the treachery!). The few remaining found haven with a close and similarly minded faction for some years (The Horde). As more Morgothians came to the Festival Lands, they hatched their plans and in recent years have rebuilt their numbers as a reborn faction. They continue to utilise the power of Morgoth to gain strength and fortune in the lands of Orin Rakatha. Summoning a large and very scary aspect of Morgoth and terrorising the entire festival gathering has earned a suitably bad name for the faction, and almost led to them being wiped out again due their commitment to the cause of destruction! It’s all in a day’s work for the Morgothians.
We worship Morgoth, a powerful aspect of the Evil and Death Spheres. We follow The Witch King, most powerful of The Nine (Nazgul). We recognise might by use of power and combat and suffer no weakness. We are open about our beliefs and welcome followers of the evil and death spheres to bring balance to Orin Rakatha.
On our home plane of Thranduil, our sworn enemies are the Elves and those who claim to be Good aligned. However, on Orin Rakatha we are willing to work with all nations, whilst of course retaining some animosity for those who deserve or earn it. We have long-standing allegiance to The Horde and The Dymwan, amongst others. Any factions that do us harm (unless we found it fun!) or steals from us (which is never excused) will become a target for ‘a suitable response’, though we soon forgive and forget once we’ve killed you a bit.
We will fight most adversaries in Orin Rakatha, for gain, defence or just fun, and (despite our bad reputation) often play an important role in the defence of the poor people of Orin Rakatha. Although it surprises some, we also befriend visiting demons and vampires, but are more than happy to smite them should they refuse to be friendly.
