Herofest LARP/LRP - Safety and Non Combatants

Herofest-LARP is primarily about everyone having fun and we want to ensure that this is possible for everyone.

In the unlikely event that there is an accident you should let either your faction representative or leader know and/or come to the main building.

In the case of an emergency we have directions to the nearest hospital which is only minutes away.

Live action role playing is commonly a contact sport and Herofest-LARP involves fighting with safe replica fantasy weapons.

Players who have a medical condition that precludes them from contact fighting can be a non-combatant.

Non combatants should not be struck by any physical melee or ranged weapon. However, non-physical effects, such as non-weapon based magic/power, poisons/diseases, and area/game effects will still have an effect. A non-combatant does not have to fall to the ground when injured/dying though. Instead they may move to the side of the immediate area and await healing (or death) and/or looting there

To identify yourself as a non combatant you must wear a white sash at all times – the bigger the better. You will need to provide your own white sash.

If it is dark or if you think that for any reason nearby combatants will be unable to see your sash then you should call out “non combatant” and move away from any fighting immediately.

Non Combatants should make every effort not to put themselves into areas of fighting.

If you do not have a medical condition that precludes you from contact fighting, then you may not be a non-combatant.

Please note the following

All our Herofest events are run at Candleston – it is important to be aware that the ground conditions at Candleston are difficult in places and if you have problems walking on uneven ground please let us know beforehand as we can offer help and advice.

Also, it is a forest, so watch out for trees!
