Larping Notes:

The world of Orin Rakatha is a strange one. Populated by factions and races from many other worlds, they find themselves here for a variety of reasons and by a variety of forms. The Morgothians come from a world known as Thranduil, but known to others as Middle Earth. Followers of Morgoth, the dark god that many see as the embodiment of evil and darkness on that world, and they are come to Orin Rakatha not as refugees or explorers, but as warriors. This new world is a place ripe for conquest, and the fact that conquest of this world would be long, hard and arduous, makes it all the more worthy of the attempt.

The Morgothians hold a tower in Orin Rakatha, Barad Ithil, located in the far Southeast. Until recently they kept their distance from many of those elements of Orin Rakathan life that may have been regarded as folklore, or simply quaint local traditions that had no real meaning in the grand scheme of things. That was until the arrival of the Ambassador. Ambassador Vukassin, faction representative of the Morgothians, is a relative newcomer to the tower. Once a high ranking member of the Dai fah Dyne, due to the events at a recent Interplanar Fayre, he became tainted and fell over to the side of evil. He joined the Morgothian Tower and quickly rose to a position of favour.

Convincing the Morgothians that the Interplanar Fayre, the Muster and other similar events were more than the quaint tradition they were viewed as, he obtained permission to recruit troops from the Morgothian numbers; volunteers who wished to join this new group of Morgothian troops.

Captain Gurlach, now accompanied by his Lieutenants Furribur and BD, form the backbone of the group. From humble beginnings, the faction is growing to one of the most powerful in Orin Rakatha. The vast majority of the recruits are new from Thranduil, troops from Mordor or followers of Morgoth who wish to spread his power somewhere anew. But with all of them now having shed blood for the cause, none will be swayed and all are prepared to die for their dark masters.

Bearing the symbol of the Burning Eye, the Morgothians aim to succeed, to win, to impose their superiority upon any who would stand up to them, and crush underfoot those who do not. Most recently, the Morgothians gained sufficient favour through their actions and political machinations, to gain the favour of the hostess of the Fayre and host it.

During the Fayre, they were able to get the Hostess, Tuchi Moonchild, to wear a magic ring forged in the deepest forges of Barad Dur. Tuchi Moonchild, magically linked to the Fayre, is known to feed on the spirits of her consorts, replenishing them every year. But now, the Morgothians believe that they have found a way to turn the energies their way and as time passes and she feeds, they supply the food and hope to exert control over her and gain control of the Fayre itself.

As things stand now, they are ready to go with the others to explore the possibility of bringing ritual powers back, but the powers of life and death not just magic. Clearly, death magic brings the power of Morgoth, and Morgoth and his Nazgul reward those who spread evil, chaos and destruction. This is not to say the Morgothians are dark and brooding psychopaths all of the time, knowing that their fate lies at the whim of their dark god, they live life to the full. Being a military unit, their campfire often hosts the best ale and food, the finest apples and as each night may be their last, songs and merriment are heard aplenty. Do not be fooled into thinking they are all doom and gloom, their steadfast beliefs and warrior spirit means that each day they are alive is a blessing and as each battle may be their last then to give nothing but their all.

The Morgothians have their plans, and if you wish to be a part of those plans, join them!

Diplomatic status with the other factions

The Morgothians will start events with neutrality towards all other factions. This of course may change on the event and your actions as the players will affect diplomatic relations on future events. The Morgothians consider themselves to be evil.
